Full Job Description

Our busy orthopaedic clinic is looking for a Patient Services Representative with excellent organizational and administrative skills. Patient Services Representative are expected to be compassionate and discrete with superb time management and record keeping skills. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, weekends off and paid holidays!

Responsibilities vary between positions, but could include:

  • Promptly and professionally answer incoming phone calls and route them to appropriate person, department, or voicemail
  • Schedule/reschedule patients according to provider scheduling guidelines
  • Schedule patients seen at local emergency rooms appropriately and quickly
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff and providers regarding patient scheduling issues
  • Process incoming referrals and document patient account accordingly
  • Prepare and release medical records as appropriate
  • Verify appointments are scheduled and authorized based on patient insurance plan

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years’ experience in a medical environment
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records
  • Bilingual (preferred Spanish)
